Soresma
Soresma, integrated in water management
Both in and outside Flanders, a new vision for water management has been developed. Within this vision, water management is approached in a more durable and integrated manner. Multidisciplinary expertise is required to put this into practice. This knowledge is unquestionably present within Soresma.
Our Water division carries out studies covering all water-related aspects from a broad perspective. Standard projects comprise policy, feasibility, modelling, design, engineering, and the management of the water system.
Our team of experts has thorough scientific knowledge and in-field experience in a variety of domains such as:
Modelling and assessment of:
- surface water quantity: hydrology – hydraulics
- surface water quality
- sewage water (including Hydronaut studies)
- groundwater (quantity / quality)
- river and coastal morphodynamics
- 3D fluid dynamics (CFD)s
Infrastructure
- design of hydraulic structures
- retention basins, water retaining walls
- organisation of flood areas (flood control areas, controlled reduced tide areas,)
- fish migration facilities integral design of embankments organisation of (dredging) dumping sites
- sewerage and (small-scale) water treatment infrastructure
Management and monitoring
- development of gauging networks for groundwater and surface water
- on-line measurement, control and management systems for watercourses, sewer systems and coastal areas
- operational (real-time) forecasting models and management systems
Integrated water management and water policy studies
- inventory studies, problem analysis and definition of strategies and plans towards integrated water management and policy.
- drawing up (sub)basin management plans
- drawing up household water plans
- eco-hydrological studies
- feasibility studies
- environmental impact assessment, water test
Soresma still offer its clients the most suitable techniques and methodologies. High quality, efficient solutions are generally recognised as one of Soresma’s key strengths.
Strong together
The Water department works closely together with other Soresma departments and affiliated companies abroad. In this manner, Soresma distinguishes itself through its multidisciplinary approach, in which water is clearly recognised as a driving or structuring element.
It is no surprise that the quality of this synergy meets the requirements for ISO 9001 certification. Likewise, Soresma has adopted and endorsed the ”Quality guarantee for Integrated Water Management”, standard that has been issued by ORI (Organisatie van Raadgevende Ingenieurs en studiebureaus: Association of Consulting Engineers, Engineering- and Consultancy bureaus).
