Spatial planning and mobility
The drawing up of municipal spatial structure plans (MSSP) is in full stride. Following on from these, numerous spatial implementation plans and demarcation processes have started up. Soresma is the designer of several MSSP’s, both for rural municipalities and urban centres; projects have also been developed for provinces and for the Flemish region. For these, structure plans are drawn up at several scale levels. For more than 50 municipalities, special construction plans and space implementation plans have been drawn up from various lines of approach. Through these activities, Soresma has reinforced its market position in spatial planning. At mobility level, apart drawing up municipal mobility plans, Soresma also works on vision studies, mobility impact reports, company transport plans and derivatives of agreements (e.g. school surroundings).
Public spacial planning and landscape design
The market for public space organisation projects requires projects of ever-increasing quality, whereby facets such as safety, accessibility, sustainability…. are taken into account. Soresma creates design and implementation files for recreational areas, road infrastructure, public space such as streets, squares and parks, construction surrounding housing projects etc. In the field of sport and recreation, feasibility and needs studies as well as concrete design plans and technical implementation files are created for sport fields, playing fields and other recreational facilities.
Nature and environmental policy
In the field of space policy, our ecologists, bio-engineers, landscape experts and spatial planners are top consultants of the Flemish community and the Flemish Land Agency. Besides policy-supporting tasks such as compiling methodology for plans aimed at nature, the focus is especially on assessment files, integrated water management (actualising Sigma plan), land consolidation and country institution projects, REE inventory, ecological management plans, etc.
